What is the CDT?

Our Video (in progress)

We've made  hiking videos from Fiddlehead and Pieps' Triple Crown hike in 2002,
our Nepal trip in 2004, The Grand Canyon in 2005, and
Arches and Canyonlands National Parks in 2006.

For this trip on the CDT in 2007, we are taking 2 video cameras
and since we expect to be in the wilderness for 6 months,
we plan a full length "do badder" style, explosive, action packed video.

Our goal is to let you sit back in a soft, comfortable chair, and enjoy 90 minutes of hiking OUR STYLE: Good music, campsites in the most picturesque locations in the country, wild animals, and some words of wisdom from 2 (somewhat) crazy backpackers who just love being out there and doing it!  Enjoy

video clips from our trip are available below

putting video clips on our site has proven to be quite a challenge. we are only able to do it when we have access to our laptop. please bear with us. we will add clips at irregular times. thanks..

Join 3 long distance backpackers for a 97 mile adventure below the rim of this country's largest canyon. Explore with them a place where time and the elements have created a masterpiece of perfection. Views that change with every step and a setting few would consider visiting in the winter. Enjoy the abundant wildlife including blacktailed deer, coyote, roadrunners, California condors, horses, burros, and the ever present ravens. See how Peaches, Pieps and Rainman deal with an environment that is evacuated and closed during their trip. Watch as they overcome some of their most daunting fears, Below the Rim.

In March of 2004, four long distance backpackers from the USA: Bob "Rainman" Rzewnicki, Glenn "Fiddlehead" Fleagle, Christian "Slo Ride" Timmerman and Lori "Shake & Bake" Adkison, met in Kathmandu Nepal for a month long trip highlighted by their 20 day trek in the Himalayas.
This 35 minute video will try to show you what it is like to trek in the Himalayas with it's strong religious attractions as well as the world's highest mountains. Join them in their "Here & Now" Experience.

On Oct. 14, 2001, 2 long distance backpackers started out from Mt. Katahdin, Maine in an attempt to hike the "Triple Crown" of backpacking: The Appalacian Trail, The Pacific Crest Trail and the Continental Divide Trail. In this adventure, Glenn "Fiddlehead" Fleagle and Brian "Pieps" Piepergerdes found out what "Really Livin" is all about! This journey took place over 21 states and 10 months of hiking some of the most beautiful scenery in the USA. The trip was fully supported with 39 different drivers and over 78 people helping them along the way in a support vehicle named the "Spaceship" . Team Triple Crown took over 17 hours of video and 5,000 still pictures that were used to comprise this 52 minute action packed video. See Grizzly Bears, Moose, Eagles, Rattlesnakes, and much more without leaving your living room, and let Team Triple Crown do the walking. Enjoy!
